Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 13, 2026 • Last updated: October 13, 2026

Fraym ("we", "our", or "us") helps you find photo spots, frame your shots and keep them as memories on a map. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Fraym mobile app (iOS and Android) and the website at fraym.epsiloop.io (together, the "Service") handle, why, and the choices you have.

The short version: your photos stay on your device, your precise location is used only while a screen is open and is never stored or sent to us, and the anonymous usage data we collect can be switched off.

1. Who is responsible

Epsiloop (operating Fraym)
Email: info@epsiloop.io

2. Data the app handles

2.1 Location

Fraym uses your device's precise location, only while the app is open, to show your distance to a photo spot and your compass heading for the final stretch of guidance. A location fix is used on the screen that asked for it. It is not written to disk, not stored with your captures and not sent to our servers. We never request background location and keep no location history.

2.2 Camera and photos

The camera runs entirely on your device to show framing and pose guides and take your photo. Captured photos are saved in the app's private storage on your device, together with the memory details you create (such as the date and place name). Fraym does not upload your photos. You can share a photo only through your device's own share sheet, when you choose to. Fraym does not read your photo library.

2.3 Microphone

Fraym does not record audio. Because the camera component used by the app is bundled with a microphone permission on iOS, you may see that permission string, but it is not used.

2.4 Anonymous usage data

To learn which parts of the app help and which confuse, Fraym can send anonymous usage events such as screens opened, steps of the capture flow completed and your own rating of a shot. Events carry a random install identifier and coarse properties only. They contain no name, email address, account, photo or precise location. Raw events are deleted after 180 days; only aggregated counts are kept longer.

This is on by default and you can turn it off at any time in the app under Privacy & data (shield icon). When off, no further events are collected or sent.

2.5 Training data

The setting "Help improve guidance with my photos" is off by default. At present no photo upload exists; the setting only records your preference for any future feature, which would ask again before anything is collected.

2.6 Reports and contributions

If you send us a spot report or a creator contribution, we receive what you choose to include in it. This data is stored on your device until a feature to submit it is released, and we will explain what is collected at that point.

2.7 Maps

Maps are loaded as tiles from OpenStreetMap. Like any web request, this lets the tile server see your IP address and the map area requested. No API key or account is involved, and we do not receive that information. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.

3. Permissions we ask for

PermissionWhyNotes
CameraGuided capturePhotos stay on your device unless you share them.
Location (while in use)Distance to the spot and headingForeground only. No background location, no history.
InternetMap tiles and, if enabled, anonymous usage eventsNo advertising identifier is used.

Permissions are requested only when a step needs them, and you can change them at any time in your device settings.

4. The website and early-access emails

This website sets no cookies, runs no advertising or analytics scripts and does not track you. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. If you email us to join early access, we use your address only to tell you when the beta opens and to reply to you, and we delete it when you ask or once the beta list is no longer needed.

5. What we do not do

6. Legal basis (EEA / UK users)

Processing activityLegal basis
Precise location while the app is openConsent, given through the device permission prompt (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
Camera useConsent, given through the device permission prompt (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)
Anonymous usage eventsLegitimate interests in improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); you can opt out in the app
Early-access emails and support repliesConsent and legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(a), 6(1)(f) GDPR)

7. Retention and deleting your data

Photos and memories live on your device, so you control them: delete them in the app or by uninstalling it. In the app, Privacy & data → Delete my data clears every captured shot and rating, spot reports and contributions stored on the device, resets your privacy switches to their defaults and rotates your install identifier so later usage events cannot be linked to earlier ones. Anonymous events already received are kept for up to 180 days and then deleted. To have an early-access email removed, write to info@epsiloop.io.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we hold very little data that identifies you, most of these are handled by the controls in the app; for anything else, email info@epsiloop.io. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Security

Data stays on your device wherever possible, and anything sent to us is transmitted over an encrypted connection. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but keeping less data is our first protection.

10. Children

Fraym is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change what Fraym collects, we will update this page and the in-app notice, and change the date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
